Bridal Information Hub

Thanks for visiting wedresearch. Are you a researching bride, you were a bride or google brought you here by chance? The cyber world is simply amazing, you can now search just about anything and the answer will be right in front of you on the monitor. It's frustrating however that at times I ended up on some bogus sites. Information is stored in multiple locations, a particular forum may contain a few different threads of a same topic, comments are scattered all over the place. For instance, of all 30 comments in a forum topic, maybe only a couple of them are actually useful. Don't you wish the relevant data is filtered out and then presented to you in one page?

Now here's the deal. I'm sure you have inquired about or dealt with a wedding vendor in some ways. Why not share the experience. Similarly, when downloading a movie/song from any P2P file sharing application, someone has to seed (feed the data) for the downloaders (leeches) to get it. Contribution can be made by writing a comment. You don't have to be a registered blogger to comment, simply select; Anonymous or Name/URL. Otherwise, email me at Sounds good?

If everyone provides one useful piece of information, it saves fellow BTB's effort big time, shortlisting from the sea of available options. Perhaps you have attended a wedding recently, how did the food taste, did you have problems with the service, were you comfortable with the ambiance or you thought the reception went pretty well? How would you rate the overall service rendered by the BS (Wedding Acronym), did the photography standard meet your expectation, or was there a 'wow' factor, did you like the makeup/ styling and gowns selection? You are happily married and your AD photos were a big disappointment, feel free to inform us what went wrong. Was the MUA you hired worth the money spent?

I underwent the laborious wedding planning myself. Listing down the qualities, rates, contact, pictures, comments, of each vendor helps me get a better assessment. My thought is keeping all this information to myself would be such a waste.

  1. Thanks for all your reviews on wedding planning.I also went through a lot of research before picking my current team.My wedding is in July 2012, and I've been planning since middle of last year.My advice to brides-to-be out there is to really research in advance regarding wedding planning. If I could go back and change a thing,I would probably have opted to not sign up with bridal house cause in the end,I actually custom made my wedding+ evening gown.Bridal houses cost a bit, and unless you're planning to use their dresses (of which you'll need to add extra RM1000 at least as refundable deposit for dresses borrowed), it's actually pointless as you can actually just pay less for an outdoor and indoor shoot..budget wisely!

Bought my shoes in Tangs Singapore, it was just coincidental but I'm happy with my choice as I almost wanted to custom make my shoes as well.Makeup artist I settled with Aivy Yong, as I think her price is fair and she's good at airbrush makeup-going for trial on 6th april..I rarely wear makeup so it's ok with me..

Wedding gown- white&lacy,PJ.Paulynn is good at what she does and very experienced. You can negotiate with her regarding the dress and she also does evening gowns and shoes+ makeup..

evening gown-iamabride, kathy.Nice lady, hardworking. You can discuss with her anything and she'll try to accommodate you.She had some packages that would be worth it for some people..

Dinner- oriental banquet,pj.Talk to their manager, Peggy for price..she's nice and accommodating but need to book in advance..

That's all the 2 cents worth of experience I can share for the moment..hope everyone else has a fruitful planning time as well! :) Does anyone know any good bridal car rental in kl/pj?

  2. Oh, and I forgot: those of you who can afford it, the stories team looks pretty good at capturing the moments..their website is recently moved into place in pj..My photographer I choose Weng Yap, he's not well known but his price is reasonable and he's use to working alone.Another to consider is John Poh, also writes fast replies via email and very helpful..Olivia Oon also has quite good photography skills, they all have websites.Pick one that fits your budget.I opted for no video cause I wanted to remember the day in pictures :) Be ready to set aside more than RM5k if you want photos and video on your big day..Get a wedding planner if you feel that you need help to plan the big day as they are essential in ensuring the day runs smoothly and you don't have to worry bout anything except to look good :) All the best in planning!

  3. Thank you! that's a lot of information. I'm sure the others will find it useful, sometimes it just didn't occur to us that things can be done in a certain way.

  4. It was great to go through your post. The information here is very useful and informative.

  5. Hi Lee Ann

I too am a BTB (been planning since Dec 2011 and awainting for AD in Dec 2012) and also find it a waste to keep all my research to myself. So I setup my blog - to share my research with other BTBs too.

these are my comments on my vendors:

    (1) MUA -

    (2) AD PG -

    (3) Gowns -

    (4) Pre Wedding PG -

    (5) VG -

    (6) Emcee -

    (7) Live band -

My blog also has other posts on other vendors too. Do check it out when you have time. hope i've helped ! :D

  6. Hi Bashful Brides,
I visited your blog. It has so much information, great! Let me go through it in more detail...

Please share your experience. It will save BTBs time and effort finding their perfect vendor, also keep them from repeating the same mistakes. Select "Name/URL", enter your name or nickname (If you don't have any of the accounts listed).
