Intercontinental Hotel KL

Located strategically in KL city center Jalan Ampang, with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers just steps away, the Intercontinental Hotel (previously Nikko) is one of the more expensive venues to hold your wedding reception. Your guests will get to indulge in their splendid oriental dishes from the Chinese menu. There is corkage waiver of two bottles of either wine or hard liquor for every confirmed table. Pre-dinner with tit-bits & soft drinks are provided.

They completed a two-phase renovation in 2012 debuting a brand new lobby and the signature Concierge Lounge. The first of its kind in Malaysia, this lounge features cozy sofas in an interactive seating design.

Experience an intimate wedding reception at the Tao Chinese Cuisine, featuring a distinctive peach blossoms setting for guests to celebrate their special day with a perfect blend of authentic Chinese touch and luxury with spectacular, cloud-like inspired ceiling that grants the momentous impression of dining under the stars, some of Tao Chinese cuisine’s most distinguishable and memorable feature are the carefully selected ornate Chinese teapots that have been collected from around Asia and are displayed for guests to enjoy.

The renovated lounge reflects a new modern yet elegant design that is influenced by geometric shapes

When guests enter the lobby, they will be welcomed by two redesigned grand entrance doors that replaced the previous four-door model. A sense of arrival will be created as guests draw focus to the spectacular chandelier comprised of thousands of high quality crystals cascades down 4.5 meters from the ceiling giving the illusion of floating jewels. The chandelier is surrounded by four main columns encased in gleaming silver rods with a stunning black forest marble covering the bottom 1.8 meter area. Dark wood panels form a backdrop behind the reception area and a stretched rhombus pattern takes a 3D shape to add dimension and a unique art feel.

REVIEWS
Jan 2012
The wedding dinner took place at InterContinental Hotel KL, and the food was prepared by the Chinese restaurant Toh Lee. I enjoyed majority of the dishes served but special praises must be sung for the Roasted Duck and Steamed Cod fish! It’s not very often that we get to eat duck on wedding dinners and this was roasted to a marvelous crispiness that didn’t remove the moisture from the flesh. On the other hand, the cod was served in a very generous portion, with silky smooth flesh that almost melted in my mouth. Thumbs-up!

  2. The intercontinental hotel price for chinese wedding banquets for 2014 starts at RM2199++ for the most basic package, and RM2,399++ for the intermediate package. The grand ballroom has been renovated to fit the Intercontinental group standards and the pillars are now of a darker wood colour.
