Andy Lim - Capturing the Emotion in your Wedding Pictures

The word "photojournalism" has been mentioned again and again in the photography arena but what is it really? Take a look at the pictures below and you can immediately make a story out of every action, emotion on their faces and so on. I was amazed by how Andy Lim caught the photo-journalistic moment at just the right time.

When asked how did he do it so amazingly as things happen rather fast during weddings, he says he strives to capture real moments through skill, anticipation and experience. He believes this is the unique strength of Emotion in Pictures. This cannot be fixed in Photoshop, because it needs to be captured at the right time, with the right expression, and the right lighting. The combination of all these factors requires a lot of skill to pull off. Their experience in multi-cultural weddings enables them to anticipate when the right moment will happen, and be ready for it. Have a look at their slideshows ( and pictures (, the expressions (laughter, joy, quiet bliss) are all real. They did not influence or incite those expressions, but rather they were ready to capture them when they do happen.

Great news to the newly engaged couples who are searching for a good photographer for the big day. Emotion in Pictures is running a year-end promotion, and the lucky winner will take home a RM1000 discount voucher that can be used for their 10-Hour Wedding Day Photography package. Your wedding day photography must take place by 22nd December 2013. For more information, go to: To enter the contest you just have to click on “Enter Sweeptakes” and login with your Facebook credentials. As simple as that.

Compared to other PGs who carry out heavy photo editing, Andy does very minimal post-processing to his clients' wedding day pictures. This is a matter of principal, as he prefers the pictures to be as real as possible, reflecting the true mood and ambiance of that special day. For portraiture, post-processing is used to create the right mood, and also this is where he does choreograph the couples as in how to pose. But never excessively so. While his style may not suit everyone, those who appreciate this method will be amused by his talent in bringing out real emotion by pure photography skill and experience.

Having been in the industry for 7 years, Andy Lim is no stranger to the wedding photography community. He thinks new knowledge and skills are good to know, but they do not affect Emotion in Pictures' core approach: To shoot faithfully, reproducing those precious moments as truthfully as possible. Andy believes that the quality of his work is appreciated by his target clientele who value real wedding pictures and not overly influenced by the presence of the photographer.

He chooses not to participate in any professional photography certification bodies. Instead of following the crowd, Andy chooses to stay true to his beliefs, and it has been proven effective. I find him to be passionate about his profession and very detail oriented. He will definitely work out the specific requirements with his clients to achieve the desired result.

Be impressed by their delectable food, excellent, thumbs up times 10. The rice is very tasty even without any dishes to go with. The entire catering coordination is executed with extra supervision and close attention. Look for the person-in-charge Kuldip to put in place a well-organized feast for your special day. Unique photos with a WOW factor | ShutterSpeak Studio

Unique photos are the ones that tickle your senses immediately when you look at them. There are different ways of capturing the moments or that pre-wedding album. Take a look at how Shuttespeak Studio plays with their photography techniques that will make you go "WOW".

The photographer makes use of the sunray effect to enhance the romanticism of the picture. This is a good example of a subtle intimate scene which is absolutely beautiful.

Time stood still when you are in love. Everything else does not matter. #timestoodstill

The moment when the wind blows on the paddy field... particles hover in the air. Sometimes it is the small details that make a photo stand out.

Photos captured on a spur of the moment is most enchanting. This is a portrait of the relationship of a father and son. It shows who they are; someone with sentimental, loving, filial, calm characteristics.

The expression is priceless

Making use of random city backdrops creatively.

The colorful graffiti designs in the streets of Melbourne

Silhouette photography makes impressive wedding photos. The subjects are shot with back light which created shadows, you can only see the silhouette of the couple and the birds. The photographer captures the image at a certain angle to bring out the two-dimentional outline. I love the dramatic bright color sunset backdrop.

Shutterspeak gets the most beautiful shots and important moments without intrusions, you won't know the photographer is there! The team instantly puts you at ease hence the journalistic results. Their clients get quality photos and videos that they will treasure. Their work speaks for itself. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.

If you want people who will spend the time to understand what you want, respect your guests and event, and deliver beyond your wildest expectations I would recommend Suhaimi and his team. There are many wedding photographers and videographers out there, many of whom offer ridiculous cheap prices. I believe you get what you pay for and having spent so much on my wedding I wanted to make sure it was captured properly. if you want professionals with the best equipment and post-production then you may not get the very cheapest price, but you will get quality photographs and video that you will treasure. I was very specific in what I wanted and needed some things on a very tight time schedule, but they were understanding and went to inordinate lengths to achieve my dream. The team are very friendly and instantly put you at ease during what can often be a stressful time. They are also excellent at disappearing into the background and capturing moments without intruding on them. I cannot recommend Suhaimi highly enough to anyone who wants to be confident they have hired the best wedding photographer and videographer out there in United Kingdom.

The video is amazing. It's just so beautiful. We all loved it. Semua sampai nangis2... hehe.

We want to say a big thank you for the work you & your team did on our wedding photos. You all did an icredible job! We couldn't be happier. We had to many comments on the slideshow you ade for the wedding using our pre-wedding shots. It was a special & memorrable treat & we are so glad to have had the pre-wedding shoot, we got some lovely shots we will treasure...& it was so much fun!! As for our wedding photos, I was soworried after the wedding that we may not have gotten enough shots because we were so rushed on the day. What a pleasant surprise we got!!! You guys managed to get the most beautiful shots of all the "real" & important moments. Best of all we never even realized you were there so we didn't feel the need to pose, it was all natural& just beautiful.

Filming Art Cinematography

The videography industry is growing fast and furious. It does not come as a surprise because videos could capture real moments in a way static photos can't. We want our wedding events to be recorded in more exciting and action-packed motion pictures. When I first saw the video of the wedding day morning session (gate crashing and ceremony) produced by Filming Art displayed at a friend's wedding reception dinner, I was very intrigued. Amazed because of the artistic cinematography, smooth development of the story, nice editing, the fun, romantic and modern feel it creates.

Filming Art is highly recommended for couples with a good budget to spend and it has been labeled as the "real good one". They create very touching romantic and sincere videos that make tears roll down one's cheek.

The wedding video below was made to tell a beautiful love story. It transitions from the groom and groomsmen speaking about meeting the right girl, meeting the parents, to light moments of the couple spending time at the beach in casual wear, then finally the religious ceremony and wedding reception, all mixed together.

Rajesh & Davin Wedding Cinema from Filming Art Cinematography

You have to watch the next video. When the wedding movie started with truck load of "fully geared" SWAT agents, I was already laughing. Don't miss the "Behind the scene" clips at the end of the video. The groomsmen were having fun stealing the limelight in front of the camera during shooting. It was such a fun and memorable wedding.

The girls side reception was on Friday and during the reception, they showed a video on the wedding in Koh Samui. All I can say is, I was touched by the romance and sincerity of the video that I had tears in my eyes by the end of it. Since that night, I’ve watched it many times over and every time I do, I still get goose bumps.  GOOD
