Jaya Palace (皇宫 ), Wisma LYL PJ

The food is really good. Worth the price you pay for as the food is cooked with good ingredients, scallops are big. Reasonably priced Wedding banquet. Dishes served during wedding banquet were hot & warm, fresh & tasty. The banquet hall setting is pretty nice like Hotel with chandelier. Service is good too. Some people find the place and arrangement of the tables rather cramped up. It is cozy though.

I personally picked Palace Group because the menu were one of the most 'worth' because by paying such amount.  Many would think that the place is small but to me, what's most important is the place is decent and not too cramp but yet cozy.

Had a friends wedding. Restaurant was fully booked with 2 weddings running concurrently. Surprisingly food was actually really good considering how busy the whole restaurant was. So was the service.

Attended Wedding dinner. Food is delicious! Be careful of man who'll trick you into valet parking.

The 9-course dinner at Jaya Palace was quite impressive. I loved the large dried scallop inside. You don’t usually get ones as big as this from retail shops unless you’re willing to pay a hefty price tag. There were also two pieces of fish maw inside, a classic Cantonese double boiled soup with premium non-controversial ingredients.

The banquet hall after renovation in 2014 (the new floral carpet instead of the older stripe carpet, also they wrapped the pillars with mirrors to make the room look bigger. The pillars were shelving for little teapots previously):

They had a major renovation this year to accommodate more tables for wedding receptions. Now they can hold up to 70 plus tables after the renovation.

Wedding Reception at Renaissance Hotel KL

Packages 2018: from RM2507 nett per table | Capacity: 800 pax | If you are looking for a grand multi-purpose location with great ambiance to conduct your wedding ceremony as well as the reception, you may have landed on your perfect venue at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. Depending on the number of guests the Grand Ballroom is available with a minimum of 60 tables, while Ballroom A or B with a minimum 30 tables. The hotel provides good sound and lighting system. The ballroom of the hotel is big, spacious, decorative, pillar-less great for 360 view wherever you are seated. The design resembles old French houses with balconies.

Many of Malaysian couples today under the influence of western culture, organize their weddings the simplistic way. Forget about traveling all the way to the bride's hometown to fetch her. Instead, the hotel allows you to have the traditional ceremonies, garden wedding, solemnization, and the reception all on the same day. You can even stay over night at the hotel to make the morning getting-ready session more convenient.

I attended my long time best buddy's wedding at this venue. I thought the ballroom was indeed very nice. Two words appeared in my head; comfort and style. We had a pre-dinner cocktail party before the dinner and the bride wore a white color cheongsam tailor made by her designer sister.

Historical Photoshoot Location | Melaka

With its government buildings, churches, squares and fortifications, Melaka demonstrates the early stages of this history originating in the 15th-century Malay sultanate and the Portuguese and Dutch periods beginning in the early 16th century. This city has been inscribed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2008.

This museum was the home of Baba Chan Cheng Siew (1865-1919). The interior decor of the house has Dutch, Portuguese, Malay, and Colonial influences, which make the peranakan home unique. Lavish Blackwood furniture from China, inlaid with pearl and marble, greet visitors in the formal reception hall. Set above them are 5-meter high silk embroidery of Chinese symbolism. A unique set of stairs made of solid cenggal wood leads to the second floor.

A' Famosa Fort (Porta de’ Santiago) and St. Paul's Church
There is a staircase from Stadthuys that goes up the hill to St. Paul's Church. It was first built by the Portuguese, originally known as the Chapel of the Mother of God. After the Dutch invaded Malacca, they reconstructed and renamed it to St. Paul's Church. When the Christ Church was established, the Dutch turned St. Paul’s Hill into a burial ground for their noblemen.

At the foot of St. Paul's Hill is the remains of A'Famosa Fortress built by Portuguese admiral, Alfonso d’Albuquerque to protect the Portuguese position in Malacca.

In have been here before, when there newly open above 12 years ago. It's a no pork Chinese seafood restaurant, whereby there are a huge aquarium with all sorts of seafood on display. This place haven't changed much, while the aquarium are still on display.

Opportunity arose this time to attend my family wedding dinner reception at Grand Straits Garden at Danga Bay, Johor Bahru. A Google search came back with favourable reviews of the restaurant and its halal seafood. Well, and I must say that I enjoyed the food there a whole lot. The seafood was fresh, the flavours were light, and the ambience was good. Wok-fried Prawns Cluster with Sze-chuan Spicy Sauce
Now the prawns were HUGE ... and the texture was really good .... smooth and succulent ... this sauce was sweet and sour, but tongue-burning spicy ... phew!!! Stir-fried Scallops Topped with Hawaii Nuts & Pine Nuts
This has to be my favourite ... the scallops were fresh, sweet and succulent ... the macadamia and pine nuts were crunchy .... and the broccoli crispy ... such contrast in texture!!!
The decor was very nice too. The lights were kept dim, and exuded a very cosy and romantic atmosphere.
