Westin Langkawi is a popular destinations for wedding in the region and among Indians living abroad. It is a great place to gather everyone in one place if you have relatives located all over the world. Indian weddings are about extravagance and food. The hotel chefs can customize their menu the way you want. You can go vegetarian or non-vegetarian cooked adhering to your customs.
The Float, a magical venue stretching into the ocean, will provide you the most memorable experience as the bride and groom may walk towards the jetty, exchange their vows and receive blessings from everyone surrounded by the spectacular view of the Andaman Sea. Couples may opt to have their wedding by the beach of the resort. It is the perfect location where everyone can truly enjoy themselves amidst the romantic sunset.
Its interior decor is very tasteful, modern and clean. Delicious and well presented reception dinner with attentive servers, top notch restaurant manager, coordinator, executive chef, the wedding team does live up to the Westin name.
Watch this video of a wild and entertaining wedding, with lots of dancing, the guests did have a great time. Many events leading up to the wedding, welcome dinner, the drawing of beautiful mehndi in the spa, beach party and traditional Indian ceremony, and Bollywood celebration in the ballroom.

Stayed as family and friends for 3 nights as part of wedding celebrations. Everything was very well planned and organised. Positive feedback and memorable experience by all. Had wedding and dinner reception by the spa beach front. Being able to turn around in 1.5hrs from wedding celebrations to dinner was awesome! Breakfast can be busy >8am but we had heaps. Overall staff was very polite and courteous.
Wanted a destination wedding, family and friends to be in one place together. They live all over the world. Amazing scenery, pretty hot and yet this is a lovely place. Wedding is wild and entertaining, from the welcome dinner to the beautiful mehndi, beach party and amazing colors of the Bollywood night everything has been meticulously planned down to the finest details.
At the beginning of april, we held our destination wedding at the Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the final results. We chose the Westin because of the following: i) Beautiful Resort, ii) Attentive Staff, iii) Flexibility in meeting our needs, iv) Great Food, v) cost.
We purchased the priciest Wedding Package offered by the Westin which had most of the items we needed. The Beach ceremony, with a backdrop of the Andamen Sea, was beautiful and serene. The Evening Reception took place by the infinity pool, and We hired a third party wedding planner to provide extra venue decor, lights, AV, babysitters and a live band. Our reception was elegant, romantic and a lot of fun. Our guests, mostly seasoned business travelers, were very impressed with the venue choice and overall ambience.
The Westin itself is a beautiful piece of property: I) The interior decor is very tasteful, modern and clean. ii) Hotel is not rundown/aging like other 5* properties we visited.
The Reception Dinner was delicious, high quality and well presented. The Executive Chef and senior executives were knowledgeable, flexible and respectful. We chose a four course western set dinner (quail/ prawn and saffron risotto / basil tomoto soup / beef tenderloin or cajun salmon for entree) and a wedding cake shaped like a ring pillow. Throughout the day, the servers were very attentive. One guest noted “it was the best food she’d ever tasted…”
We felt that the level of service from all staff (servers, sommelier, restaurant manager, wedding coordinator, executive chef etc..) was top notch and lived up to the Westin name.
All in all, We were very happy with our wedding. Everyone had a great time and we do plan to return to the Westin again in the near future.
i felt the Westin was the best choice for a wedding venue after visiting five other luxury hotels…
Sarah told me that though they wanted a beach wedding, she didn’t actually like sand getting between her toes. It made sense then that the Float at the Westin, Langkawi would make the perfect location for their beach wedding.
