Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Chinese Package 2018: RM1588 nett per table |  Capacity: 500 pax | Corus Hotel’s strategic location and the convenience of public transportation right
at the doorstep make it a popular wedding venue for couples who aspire to seal their union in the heart
of the city. The pillars in ballroom are quite a hindrance though. Staff are attentive and very accommodating to the customers requests. Restaurant Manager Miss Poon is professional but not all the Hotel wedding coordinators are as competent unfortunately. It offers one of the best priced wedding packages given its location, presentable, unique good food and that it is a 4 star hotel. Their sound system is not as good. From ballroom wedding celebrations to private poolside receptions, the hotel has the facilities all in one place.

For those who opt for the Oriental touch, the award-winning Ming Palace Chinese Restaurant, serves authentic Szechuan and Cantonese cuisines, hosts up to 20 round tables of 10 persons per table. Its Malaysian Tatlerโ€™s Best Chinese Restaurant awards won in 1988, 1989, 1997 and 1998, are testament to the refined culinary skills of Ming Palace chefs.

I had my wedding reception at this hotel and it was an Indian theme wedding. I must say the packages that this hotel offered was really value for money especially considering the location. We received a lot of compliments from our guests on the dinner that was served during the reception. The sound system though left a lot to be desired. We had a lot of guests who travelled from overseas stay at the hotel and they had great access to transportation in the city. The hotel itself may be a little dated but it is very comfortable and convenient for the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a wedding, as I did very extensive research and found their prices to be very reasonable. The pillars in the banquet hall is a big hindrance though. But u found the staff to be very attentive and very accommodating to our requests (although they did miss out on a few things). Overall a good place to consider having your wedding.

Drove down to the Corus Hotel KL for the wedding reception. Parking was still not bad. After getting a drink from room next door (they were serving non-alcoholic drinks as well as muruku and what not) and went into the ballroom to be an ass by myself for a bit. this hotel punya WiFi is not complimentary one ๐Ÿ˜› it’s RM8 flat rate parking after 6 p.m., and you pay on your way out at the parking booth. First dish presentation was okay – at least it wasn’t to either Hawaii Five-O or the Wong Fei Hung theme song – I certainly wasn’t expecting to see scallop (not the huge ones you see on Masterchef, but unmistakably so) on the first Four Seasons dish. They even used the scallop “skirt”/adductor muscle (also usually discarded on Masterchef) in the cold salad dish which was pretty good (read: not rubbery). Food was okay, even the dessert was pretty unusual – pink pear shaped mochi and some other weird dessert that you don’t often see.. maybe it’s just me. Was a little annoyed that the Lazy Susan at our table was not working properly and we had to resort to actually ROTATING the dish instead ๐Ÿ˜› So much for attention to detail, Corus Hotel.

I and my wife had a very unpleasant experience with Corus Hotel concerning our wedding. The points bellow are the points which I felt really irritating on our wedding…
1. The wedding responsible changed 3 times. From the first to the last one the service degraded significantly until the point that it was really irritating for us and our wedding planner.
a. The wedding planners did a very poor handover from one to another..
b. the last responsible even changed whatever it was previously agreed in the last minute. Plans were shared previously but seems that the responsible did look at it.
c. The last personnel even challenged all of us saying that this the best regardless of what we were talking.
2. Projector used was malfunctioning which jeopardized whatever it was prepared to be shown to our guests….
3. We did not have special rates for wedding…we had to book online… I believe there should be some flexibility on this…to think out of the box…
4. They really not experienced in wedding, some flexibility is needed for this kind of events but I have the impression that they just thinking as business. (in fact the responsible mention our wedding as business which I felt very unprofessional and insensitive….). We bought from wedding fair….
The only thing which saved the entire sentiment towards Corus Hotel was rhe restaurant manager Ms Poon…
Overall I definitely not recommend Corus for wedding or festivity events…
The whole thing was successful thanks to the wedding planner and Ms.Poon… but definitely not from the in house coordinators of Corus Hotel
