The renovated lounge reflects a new modern yet elegant design that is influenced by geometric shapes

When guests enter the lobby, they will be welcomed by two redesigned grand entrance doors that replaced the previous four-door model. A sense of arrival will be created as guests draw focus to the spectacular chandelier comprised of thousands of high quality crystals cascades down 4.5 meters from the ceiling giving the illusion of floating jewels. The chandelier is surrounded by four main columns encased in gleaming silver rods with a stunning black forest marble covering the bottom 1.8 meter area. Dark wood panels form a backdrop behind the reception area and a stretched rhombus pattern takes a 3D shape to add dimension and a unique art feel.

I just had my wedding dinner here. The food is tasty and service is awesome. The person in charge is helpful and thoughtful. Love this hotel!

Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur. Price: RM2199++
Pro: High ceiling with no pillar, no minimum table requirement, spacious cocktail area, newly refurnished ball room.
Con: No romantic LED lights (only yellow warm lights), ballroom wall is a bit woody and too yellowish, small budget for floral arrangement (which means you need to top up more for nicer floral deco)

The wedding dinner took place at InterContinental Hotel KL, and the food was prepared by the Chinese restaurant Toh Lee. I enjoyed majority of the dishes served but special praises must be sung for the Roasted Duck and Steamed Cod fish! It’s not very often that we get to eat duck on wedding dinners and this was roasted to a marvelous crispiness that didn’t remove the moisture from the flesh. On the other hand, the cod was served in a very generous portion, with silky smooth flesh that almost melted in my mouth. Thumbs-up!
