As one of the world’s largest and most innovative automotive museums, the Petersen Automotive Museum is an interesting wedding venue in the Los Angeles City featuring five unique spaces in which to host the event of your dreams. Choose between the highly detailed Streetscape diorama on the first floor, the dramatic exhibits on the second floor, the spacious Pavilion, the Founder’s Lounge boardroom, and the rooftop Penthouse of the fourth floor. You can book the floors separately or rent the entire museum for the night. The Petersen’s five distinctive venues can accommodate all your event needs from 10-person meetings to large-scale parties of 2,000.

Never knew you can have weddings here! Love seeing all the different
types of cars throughout the museum. DO NOT TOUCH signs everywhere. Nice view of LA from the rooftop. This place was strategically picked because of the nice high raised building covering the area where the ceremony was held to provide shade. After the ceremony you walk 3 ft and you get your own reception hall. Captivated by the fake grocery store, gas pump, and Farmer’s Insurance agent. |

The Petersen was exactly the place that we wanted our wedding, I
wanted an outdoor rooftop and he wanted something different…being a car enthusiast as my husband is The Petersen was perfect for the two of us. We were able to take wedding photos in the museum and then have a nice intimate reception on the roof. From the beginning, setting up appointments to go check out the venue to the end working with staff was easy and great. The tough part about using a venue like this is that we HAD to use their list of caterers and to go outside of that there was a fee you would have to pay them. Also it was pretty much bare bones, meaning we had to provide everything…and being inexperienced I did not know that I had to rent everything, even the equipment for the caterer. The people at the Petersen are great to work with, they help as much as possible…but a tip is to make sure to go over everything including the break down after the event. I learned the hard way, did not communicate to them well to store all my hand made decorations, which they ended up throwing out 🙁 |

Thanks to the Petersen for totally going above and beyond to make
sure my reception was awesome. Mandy Hanalon was exceptional. The maintenance staff was excellent, and worked with me and my wedding planner in creating a seating scheme that was amenable to about 175 wedding guests. And let me not forget to tell you about the cars. WOW! Absolutely breathtaking. We were on the first floor, so our ambiance was late 19th Century to mid 20th Century. It was set up like a street and we had so much fun. The guests were able to look at the cars and party. |

Host your own block party in a 1930s downtown setting! The first floor Streetscape diorama chronicles the evolution of the Southern California automobile and car culture in the twentieth century. The winding path provides sights and sounds of automobiles starting with a blacksmith shop from 1901, and ends with, “What Will They Think Of Next?”, an exhibit portraying the possibilities for the automobiles of the future. The second floor boasts seven exhibition galleries, two of which feature special themed exhibits that change annually. Guests will enjoy contemporary displays of exotic, classic, and luxury cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and famous cars of Hollywood stars. Host an event in the Grand Salon where your guests will enjoy the unique opportunity to dine and dance while surrounded by some of the world’s most exquisite automobiles.
Just outside the second floor exhibit space, and included when renting the second floor, is a 6,000 square foot alfresco promenade ideal for an outdoor lounge transformation for your guests, for event-sponsor showcasing needs, or even a social celebration.

The Connor Penthouse on the fourth floor is a beautiful urban getaway. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls blur the lines between indoors and outdoors. A large terrace surrounds the Penthouse to bring the celebration or ceremony outside. A dramatic glowing glass wall surrounds the terrace to create an upscale ambiance matched only by the panoramic view of the twinkling city lights and the stars above. This beautiful setting serves as a great place for a cocktail party, dinner reception, or ceremony. During the day, the timeless modern style and bright, airy feel of the Penthouse make it perfect for weddings, conferences, or any other special event fit for an outdoor urban environment.
